Richard Evans has been a freelance casting director since 1989, after working for the previous ten years as an actor. He has since cast in all media for companies both large and small.

He believes in quality rather than quantity when casting, bringing in a handful of artists who fit the brief, carefully ascertained during meetings with the creative team. To this end, Richard visits the theatre several times a week, as well as watching television and films, to ensure his extensive knowledge of artists and their capabilities is always up to date. He strives, wherever possible, to fully integrate casting, regardless of race, disability etc, so applications from all artists are positively encouraged.

He is a member of the Casting Directors’ Guild of Great Britain, the professional body for casting directors.
